HUCKABEE BOMBSHELL: DOCTOR SAYS HE'S LIKELY LYING ABOUT HIS WEIGHT LOSS

Normally Mitt Rocks would never publish something so seemingly frivolous as this. Even as avid Romney supporters, we couldn't find it in our hearts to do this to someone unless we felt it was justified. There is some extremely disturbing breaking news about Mike Huckabee. This news, if true, would be very damaging to his credibility. Huckabee has already faced accusations of dishonesty for his comments about Mormon theology, an alleged cover up of his son's dog abuse, and the "floating cross" in his Iowa Christmas ad. But if this new information is true, it could destroy all confidence in Huckabee.

The issue is whether Huckabee's 110 lb weight loss in a one year period was due to natural dieting and excercise, as he claims, or if it was the result of gastric bypass surgery. Huck has touted himself as a weight loss expert, even writing a book on the subject (see above). After he lost the weight he instituted a major anti-obesity program in Arkansas, citing himself as an authority. But now a medical doctor has researched Huckabee's health history, and he sees a high likelihood that his weight loss was not due to diet and exercise, but to gastric bypass surgery. The burden is now on the Huckabee campaign to substantiate Mike Huckabee's claim that he lost the weight naturally. Click here to access a summary of the doctor's research.

This piece makes a very compelling argument. I felt the guy is sideways and dishonest in general, so I am inclined to think there may well be merit to this. Sad.
